I am Madhusha and I help other children to walk
18 Mar 2015 | Carole Powell
Madhusha is nearly three years old and has a birthday party every year but is not given presents by her friends. All of her friends are invited to her birthday party but are requested to replace presents with cash. Every year that money is given to the Australian Lions Children’s Mobility Foundation to help fund walkers for children with cerebral palsy. She has been doing this since 2013. She has helped give better lives to 3 year old Justin, 6 year old Mielle and 2 year old Isaac.
Her parents shared these words – ‘when Madhusha started taking her very first steps, we thought every child shall walk with pride like ours.’
Madhusha has parents who are committed to making the world a better place to live in and helping children grow into healthy adults. Both parents are members of Lions Australia and extremely involved in improving the lives of the people in Nepal but are also committed to helping the Australian community.
No doubt, when Madhusha grows up she will be able to look back, with a sense of achievement, and remember all the children she has enabled to walk. She will certainly know her best birthday presents were the ones she has given to others.
